Hip To Be Square | Newark Tiles Meanie 001

One of my hopes for this newsletter is to use it not only for my own writing, but for the work of other creators as well. It can be hard, at times, to make one's work stand out when competing with all of the periodical content demanding your readers' attention. My featured creator today knows that all too well, having published a renowned puzzle column for decades only to have their idea shamelessly copied by a powerful corporate newspaper (which I will refrain from naming at this time). In fact, that publication had the gall to put their copycat copy-paste job behind a paywall, an even more egregious affront to my collaborator on today's piece.

Please support smaller creators today by choosing not to engage with the puzzles of that still unnamed media company and instead enjoy this stumper from the resident cruciverbalist at one of New Jersey's preeminent hyper-local home good retail magazines: The Newark Tiles Meanie!

Mx. Meanie has graciously agreed to cross-publish their crosswords in both Not That Magellan and their current paper home for the foreseeable future. If you're planning a bathroom remodel in the Tri-State area please consider Newark Tiles as your guide to the wonderful world of hard squares made of stone and whatnot.

If you're viewing this as the email newsletter, you can find the puzzle here or open this article in your browser to see it embedded.
